Boone County Jail Roster Overview
The official Boone County inmate roster is a county jail application, not a state prison or federal prison search. The Boone County current-inmates page points users to the jail's inmate search and says the tool finds individuals currently housed at the Boone County Jail with booking details and custody status. The live application offers status filters for current, released, and all inmate lists.
The Boone County Jail is led by Jailer Jason Maydak. Jail questions, custody questions, and bond posting after arrest route to the jail. Court charges, arraignment dates, and case outcomes route to Boone District Criminal or Circuit Criminal. This distinction matters because a person may appear in the jail roster before a complete court record exists, and a person may have a court case without remaining in local custody.
The image below comes from the county's official current-inmates page, which is the starting point for Boone County inmate records held by the jail.
Use that county page for the local jail roster before moving to state or federal custody tools.
Use Boone County Inmate Roster
The Boone County Jail Inmate Information application is the direct roster tool. It can display current inmates, released inmates, or all listed inmates, with name and booking-related result columns. The research crawl saw result rows with first name, middle name, last name, booking date, scheduled release date, and Display Detail links.
- Open the Boone County Jail Inmate Information application from the county jail page.
- Select inmate status if needed: Current, Released, or All.
- Enter a first name, last name, or both when the name is known.
- Choose how many records to display and the sort order if a broad list is needed.
- Select Display Inmate List, then use Display Detail when a matching result appears.

Roster results should be checked against jail or court contacts when a custody, bond, or court-date decision depends on current status.
Boone County Inmate Search Fields
The roster accepts broad or narrow searches. A name-only search may return more than one person, while the status, display count, sort field, and sort direction controls help sort large lists. The county roster is most useful for local jail custody and recent release checks, not for sentenced state prisoners or federal inmates.

Boone County Inmate Record Fields
The research crawl did not fully open a detail profile in text form, so the field inventory stays limited to the data confirmed from the list and county description. The county page says the search provides current booking details and custody status. The visible list confirms names, booking date, scheduled release date, and detail links.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Inmate List header | List label and range or count for the selected roster results. |
| Display Detail | Action link used to open more information when the roster makes it available. |
| First Name | The inmate's first name as listed by the jail. |
| Middle Name | The inmate's middle name when present in the roster. |
| Last Name | The inmate's last name used for sorting and search. |
| Booking Date | The date and time tied to the jail booking entry. |
| Scheduled Release Date | A visible release-date column that may be blank depending on custody status. |
| Custody status | Status context from the selected current, released, or all-inmates filter. |
Note: Do not assume unverified roster fields such as housing unit, bond amount, or charge detail unless the live detail screen shows them.
Boone County Jail Contact
Boone County jail records are held by the jailer, not by Fiscal Court and not by the Circuit Court Clerk. The Boone Fiscal Court open-records page says Fiscal Court is not the custodian for Boone County Jail records. It directs jail-record requests to Jailer Jason Maydak at the jail, with a fax route listed for records requests.

Boone County Inmates vs State Systems
Local jail custody is only one part of inmate records. The county roster is for Boone County Jail. The sheriff notable-links page points to the Kentucky Offender Online Lookup, VINE, Kentucky State Police, and federal law-enforcement resources for different public-safety needs. A person sentenced to state corrections or under state supervision may be better checked through KOOL. A person in federal custody may require the Bureau of Prisons locator.
VINE or VINELink is a victim-notification and custody-status notification resource, not the same thing as the Boone County roster. The Kentucky State Police sex offender registry is also separate from jail booking. For court charges after an arrest, the record may start in jail custody but then move into District Criminal or Circuit Criminal case files. The jail roster should therefore be paired with Boone County arrest records and court charges when the goal is to understand the arrest-to-court pathway.
The image below comes from the official Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator, which is separate from Boone County local jail custody.
Use the federal locator only when the person may be in federal custody, not for ordinary Boone County Jail bookings.
Boone County Booking and Court
After arrest in Boone County, a person may appear first in the jail roster if housed at the Boone County Jail. District Criminal has video arraignment dockets from jail on weekdays in Courtroom 1A according to the local schedule. District Criminal handles arraignments, misdemeanors, traffic, violations, and felony preliminary hearings. Felony cases can later move to Circuit Criminal after indictment.
Bond information and posting may involve both the jail and clerk bookkeeping. Boone's clerk materials list bond types such as personal recognizance, unsecured, surety, cash, partially secured, and property. Bond-release processing also has local office limits. If a roster entry leads to a pending charge, the court case may need to be checked through KYeCourts or the clerk rather than through the jail alone.

Boone County Mail and Funds
Incoming mail must use a plain, pre-stamped postcard purchased at a post office. It must be written in pen or pencil and include the sender's full name and return address. Marker, crayon, stickers, labels, glue, and similar materials are returned. Photos may be sent if they have a stamp on the back and include the sender's full name and return address; inmates may possess up to two 3x5 photos.

Attorney Visits and Open Records
Attorneys may visit inmates during approved hours. They must present a valid bar card and government-issued photo ID before entering the jail. Attorneys who want video visits must first register through InmateSales.com, then wait for attorney status verification by a jail coordinator or CPC Customer Support before adding clients and scheduling visits.
Open-records routing follows custody. Jail records requests go to Jailer Jason Maydak at the Boone County Jail, not Fiscal Court. Court records after filing route to the Boone Circuit Court Clerk. Sheriff records route to the Sheriff's Office. This separation is important even though the jail, sheriff, courthouse, and several county offices are all in Burlington's government campus.
Note: Boone County Jail's food service program reports more than 525,000 meals each year and cooks most food from scratch.
